About Me
Hi, I’m Zak.
In 2022 I left a corporate career in
contracting consulting to start a charity to promote combating loneliness post
COVID-19.
Within that charity, I ended up building 3
communities to foster community and connection.
Little did I know what it would turn into.
I now run corporate events, coach teams and
host workshops to build team culture.
The funny thing is I had no experience in doing this in the first place.
I didn’t know where to start, I just had a pen and paper and an excel
spreadsheet to manage my budget.
So, picture this, my first event planning session went like this:
- Blank piece of paper with a pen and excel open on my screen of my computer
- An unreasonable number of attendees (all my friends and their friends’ names).
- An expensive idea with no money in the bank.
- 4 tabs open on YouTube, trying to find which video to watch to help me figure out where I start the planning process.
- I was onto my third cup of coffee.
Not really that fun and just a lot of nervous energy.
Luckily, I found help.
The help was in the shape of a man who used to run events for the big 4
banks in Australia. He ended up winning eventer of the year in Australia that
year and took me under his wing when I ran my first gala.
From there, I learnt all things sponsorships, preparation and
execution.
Which brings me to you.
You’re probably here because you have an event idea and you’re not quite
sure where to start.
Maybe it is:
- Planning it.
- Organising it.
- Pitching it.
- Funding it.
Don’t worry, I’ve been there too.
I under-planned some things.
Overthought others.
Learnt in real time.
What I learned quickly is this:
Events are designed to create experiences people won’t forget.
But they only work when the process behind them is clear and simple.
So instead of quitting when things felt messy,
I started building systems to support the work.
I needed to create a system that would replace me and not make me be in multiple
places at once.
The templates you’ll find here are the exact ones I used for everything I
have done.
Polished through real events.
Refined across different environments.
Designed to help you turn ideas into experiences with clarity and confidence.
Used for international organisations, charities and not for profits, all the way down to community events, fetes and run clubs.
If you don’t believe me, check out my charity
and my coaching business.
If you have a question (emphasis on ‘a’, feel free to email me).
Or if you want to know which template to purchase, email me your goals and I
will tell you.
Talk soon and here is to you bringing more connection into
the world.
